Cattle Return to Sunbury Park

Rate this item
(11 votes)

Following generally positive feedback to the Council after a trial last year, the cattle, which had been expected to return in April, are finally back in Sunbury Park.

The eight Aberdeen Angus are provided with a permanent water supply and a large kissing gate has been installed at the Green Street entrance.

Caroline, I suggest you book some tickets ringside at Billy Smarts if you want crowd entertaining bovine 'talent'. All I can see is cattle grazing in an historical pastural setting which to many is what the experiment intended.

These cows are much younger than last year's and take fright and bolt if dog's bark at them. They spent most of their time out of sight, are not eating the grass - and where's the biodiversity? Not even a butterfly in sight.
