Redrow to Host Information Day on Development Proposals at Kempton Park

Rate this item
(3 votes)

Redrow, the housebuilders, will be hosting an Information Day at the Desert Orchid Suite, first floor, Kempton Park on Saturday 23rd April between 10am and 2pm.

The stated purpose of this event is to allow those who are interested to meet members of the project team, gain a better understanding of Redrow’s approach, and, most importantly, allow them to listen to residents and better understand any concerns.

All of the information will be displayed online at www.RedrowKempton.co.uk from the evening of the 22nd April, and there will be mechanisms for initial feedback to be given.

Residents will be aware that LOSRA is vehemently opposed to development of this site (which could amount to +1500 units) not just because of its green belt status but also because of its implications for traffic congestion on the A308 and surrounding roads.

Please take this opportunity to make your views known.

I thought the Government had already stated that green belt land could not be built on, especially as this borough is the most congested and polluted area in Spelthorne. How can adding 1500 more houses help to alleviate this problem ? SBC have already abandoned the monitoring of air pollution in the Borough despite their promises to start again after they removed the original testing. Residents in Sunbury are already imprisoned in there properties now when the Hampton Court Flower show in on in July with the A308 at a standstill. This proposal (if SBC allow this development) will only add to our misery and despair and go against what they have already said, 'that green belt land will not be built on'
I agree with Stuart, what's the point in having this meeting unless Redrow have been told something different by SBC.

A simple question why would a company waste time and lots of money over trying to 'steal' much important and needed green belt in one of the poorest air quality area of SW London if they haven't already been tipped the wink by the BC that it will be de classed as green belt ? Maybe the same BC who stands to make a few million over the land rights they own within the development site !
