Increase in Aircraft Noise over Lower Sunbury

Increase in Aircraft Noise over Lower SunburyResidents will have experienced an increase in aircraft noise in recent days and may wish to see this edited explanation from Heathrow:

Easterly trial

The trial that is affecting your area will finish on 26 January 2015. During the trial, instead of spreading tracks over a wide area, aircraft following more precise routes. The height or number of aircraft using each route is not affected. For people living under these routes it’s likely you’ll experience a concentration of aircraft during periods that these particular routes are being used. They’ll also be people that have less aircraft over them.

These are just temporary changes and when the trial finishes in January, flight paths will return to usual flight patterns.

There is more information about the trial on our website here http://www.heathrowairport.com/noise/airspace-modernisation

Since last year, Heathrow has been liaising about the trials with local authorities around Heathrow as well as noise pressure group HACAN and will continue to have an on-going dialogue with them throughout this process. Now that the trials have started, feedback from residents affected by the changes will be important in shaping the future design of airspace around Heathrow.

Thank you for this information. I find the noise very disruptive - I just hope it won't become a permanent thing!
I have now registered for the petition.

The link to the petition does not appear to work, I have tried several times. Any chance you could re post or point me in the right direction?

Correct about the Nimbys. Get real you live near an airport, and it's not even that bad

Crying wolf never a good idea

Live in london expect some air traffic is common sense - some areas of sunbury apparently are unaffected - personally i am now blighted by an extra 110 flights daily on heathrows trial running on route 4. None of us are nimbys - i didnt buy a house however with continuous air traffic overhead - thanks for your valuable contribution tho! ;)

Not heard any aircraft today but if the noise bothered me, I would not live near an airport. Heathrow has been here since the end of WW2.

Thank you LOSRA for the time and effort you are putting into this problem. We must all sign the petition and get this intolerable noise stopped.

I certainly will be. These changes mean large passenger aircraft every 4 minutes over Hounslow West, Hanworth, Sunbury, Upper Halliford and Virginia Water.

Anyone negatively affected, please sign the petition at http://www.change.org -
Stop the Heathrow Airport easterly departure routes trial and not make the changes permanent -
