Lane markings for Green Street altered but not, as yet, the approach road sign.
They have already altered the light phasing so that you catch more red lights, sometimes all 4 reds to get from Green St to the A316. Traffic should flow off the roundabout, not be kept on it.
I raised this problem with the AreaForum of Sep 2008, and submitted a sketch on a road Plan supplied by Blair Conacher in about Nov 2008. I was told by Julie Bone of Spelthorne that "West Area Highways is assessing all the comments made by the public." I will be very interested to see the new layout. It certainly is a disaster at present. They MUST make a better job of it.
The concerns of the above comments have already been brought to the attention of the Highways Engineers. They have reassured LOSRA that changes to address those concerns have been designed into the new lane markings. We will have to see.

I wonder just exactly they will do.
Some of the lane markings and signs are inappropriate, particularly those indicating the lanes to be used to enter Green Street / Lower Sunbury.
You can tell strangers, and new bus drivers, as they try to follow those directions and find themselves trapped in the ever present queue of traffic heading for the M3.
The Local Authorities track record at Sunbury Cross, including their latest efforts, lead one to fear that they will yet again waste money and make a mess of things.
By 'remedial' work, I hope above all that they don't mean simply re-painting the existing markings, since they are confusing and dangerous. I have commented on this issue before. Why has there been no public consultation about this? The previous design, which was allegedly by an 'expert' was a complete waste of money. It is to be hoped this latest exercise will not prove to be the same. In these straightened times, we don't have money to waste on anything.
