Thank you for your comments. Please don't hesitate to let Surrey CC know. That after all is their invitation to you and the link is shown on the article.

I agree with the first person - the roads in the East of the village are in an awful state - I actually broke a bike wheel on the junction with Harfield. Despite being "unclassified" these routes are used both by the buses, and by aggregate lorries driving to the various water processing plants. They are simply collapsing and they are a disgrace to Surrey CC who I guess hide behind their unclassified status.

just where would you start ! maybe if highways purchased as much tar or infill as they of white spray paint that they use to draw around the defective surface he wouldnt have a problem just look at the following junctions with the A308 Staines Road East with Harfield and Kenton Ave !! WHAT does this end of Sunbury get from either SSC or SBC ? also cant use the pavements due the lamp post works I used to wonder why in Surrey it was stated there were more 4x4's than in the country answer because the roads are cr@p
Our elected rep's do nothing nor care

Surrey County Council and their highways 'maintenance' partner May & Gurney should be ashamed of what they have or rather haven't delivered. I'm led to believe SCC pays M&G £10m per annum for the next 6 yrs to maintain our road infrastrucure.
Tar and chipping(they use the term dressing) doesn't remedy the problem when the actual structure of the road needs overhauling. Witness what's happend to Fordbridge Road between the Shepperton Holiday Inn and Travis Perkins, 'dressed' 18 mths ago and now full of the same imperfections that had been 'hidden' from view with a cosmetic layer of tar & chippings.

Last month they threw some loose tarmac into the pot-holes on this stretch which is an admission of the failings of this type of road surface treatment.

Ever had the misfortune to come off a road bike on one of these treated surfaces? Let's just say its like a gravel version of the roughest sandpaper.

The dressed surface is a noise nuisance for people living beside these treated roads as the chippings act like a rumble strip and amplify the noise of the contact between travelling car tyre and road surface.
