Rate this item
(0 votes)

The following changes are proposed to the CRC service:

1. Permanently closing a number of smaller, less effective CRCs, whilst increasing the opening hours at some CRCs.

2. Introducing a charge to dispose of construction wood and roofing felt.

3. Increasing the cost of disposing of items we already charge for.

4. Charging an annual application fee for van, pickup and trailer permits.

Please have your say on these proposals by completing the survey in the 'Have your say' link at the bottom of this page.

This consultation closes at 11:59 PM on Friday 4 January 2019.

£4 to dump a bag of hardcore at Shepperton, crazy! No wonder fly tipping is on the increase. Most people at the tip are just homeowners, not commercial, with the odd path or a bit of DIY or a wall to dispose of. I thought all the waste segregation was great for recycling because we actually sort all the waste out, spend time driving to the tip using our own vehicles and fuel and then throw it into the correct areas. Can’t they see, we are actually trying to save them money by sorting our own waste out and preventing fly-tipping. I now put and hardcore into my regular waste bin for collection. I would welcome a better system of reusing the materials at the waste sites, as some of it is ideal for small projects and could have a nominal cost.

So with fly tipping affecting all of us who live in Surrey which in many ways is a result of cutbacks and charging at `CRC'S, which in its self costs more to clear than is received at the pay points at CRCs,
We will now to be treated to more fly tipping , this time building timber.
So why not set a skip or two aside at the big CRCs for this material, so that this can be recycled for house holders wanting small quantities of building wood and materials ..YOU could even ask for a donation!!
Regarding upcycling, I have witnessed residents being prevented from removing items suitable for reuse from the CRC prior to deposition by original owners,- non elecrical ( what would Kirsty say?)
    Please think.
