20mph speed limit at the village.
Great idea but it would a waste of money.
The reason I say this is for the fact that there are other places that actually deserve the speed limit and bumps in lower Sunbury MORE than the villag, namely outside both the schools in Manor lane for the safety of our children. I truly cannot believe it hasn't happened already. Secondly the "speed bumps " in the Avenue are appalling, they have made cars seemingly travel slower but lorries and vans are treating it like a ski jump. The noise and vibrations from these vehicles is earthmoving! Quite literally. There is proof of their disregard currently lying on the bump as I write this. I have taken a picture of it too. Building gravel. The shape of the speed but is diabolical for cars as the shape to go onto the bump on all four sides is atrociously shaped and damaging for cars.
I certainly feel that surrey council has done the minimal for residents as to the state of the roads and safety of our community. Free parking should be brought back to all those car parks around Sunbury park as it has only led to people (especially the elderly) to park in the roads which leads me to mention the village which is used as an overflow. The Avenue has become a rat run and blighting our community and will continue to do so. Only one part just simply does not solve the issue of a 20mph zone in the village end. It must be done properly and not for financial or political gain.
